ZOOM! Professional Whitening System
The Zoom! Chair side whitening method is designed to lighten
the discoloration of enamel and dentin. The procedure uses a
Hydrogen Peroxide based gel in conjunction with the Zoom!
lamp, in order to maximize results in a minimal amount of
time. During the procedure, the whitening gel is applied to
the teeth which are exposed to the Zoom! lamp for 3 sessions
of 15 minutes each. The shade of your teeth will be verified
and recorded before and after Zoom!.
For best results, it is recommended that you have your teeth
cleaned prior to the actual Zoom! whitening session.
Get Ready to ZOOM!
√ The procedure is simple. It begins with a short
preparation to cover your lips and gums, leaving only your
teeth exposed.
√ The Zoom! clinician then applies the proprietary
Zoom!
whitening gel, which was designed to be used specifically
with the Zoom! Light. The light and gel work together to
gently penetrate your teeth,
breaking up the stains and
discoloration.
√ During this time you can relax, and listen to music.
√ Finally, you go home with a brighter, whiter smile!

A Note of Assurance
Tooth whitening is a
well established procedure in cosmetic dentistry. Hydrogen
Peroxide, is the active agent in Zoom! It has been safely
used for many years in the treatment of gums and other oral soft
tissue.
The whitening process is
usually effective on most discoloured teeth. Darker stains, such
as those caused by antibiotics, are more difficult to whiten.
The structure of the teeth will determine the degree of
whiteness. It will vary from patient to patient.

What causes tooth discoloration?
There are many causes. The most common
ones include aging and consumption of
staining substances such as coffee, tea,
colas, tobacco, red wine, etc. During
tooth formation, consumption of
tetracycline, certain antibiotics or
excessive fluoride may also cause tooth
discoloration. |
